Valentine’s Bouquets

YCN has collaborated with florist Emily Clark to offer some beautiful bouquets, hand delivered for Valentine's Day.

All pre-orders have now been sold. There may be a limited number of bouquets available on the day in the shop at 72 Rivington Street.

Each comes presented in lovingly illustrated paper, and includes a combination of GrandPrix and Spray Roses, Ile de France and Ronaldo tulips, Ranunculus with Italian Vibernum and Eucalyptus.

All bouquets are made up fresh on the day and come carefully packaged in a convenient bag with water bubbles to keep them happy until presented.

Free central London hand-delivery on the 14th February is included for all orders. Delivery further afield can be organised at additional cost.

YCN Student Awards Annual 11/12

As the YCN Student Awards approach their tenth year, we are delighted to publish another edition of our YCN Student Awards Annual. Showcasing all the stellar work commended as part of the most recent programme, as well as this year’s live briefs, we also catch up with commendees from previous years’ Awards to discuss how they’re practices have grown and evolved since participating.

We are thrilled to have collaborated with photographer Nick Ballon throughout this year’s annual. Nick produced some terrific portraits for our profile pieces on previous Awards commendees, including Sophie Browness, Matt Ivey, Vicky Simmons, James Dawe and Rick Dodds and Steve Howell. He also photographed this year’s Student Of The Year Award, created by lighting designer Phillip Oakley, for the front cover.

As ever, the publication marks the launch of the latest annual YCN Student Awards; presenting new live creative challenges - from the likes of Google, Heinz Salad Cream and SEGA - for all those who wish to tackle them. More information on the YCN Student Awards programme can be found here.

Cocktails with Bompas and Parr

The latest publication from Sam Bompas and Harry Parr, collectively known as Bompas and Parr.

There's a host of straight-forward procedures for enchanting drinks, as well as larger punches to entertain crowds of thirsty revellers.'

No one guide can hope to encompass Chicago’s manifold delights. This is a city of monster proportions – huge in every way, with thrilling architecture, wonderful food, and the glistening vastness of Lake Michigan as a shifting backdrop. It is a place where things happen. Yet for all its big city sophistication, it holds on to some Midwestern attributes, and it’s these which make it such a pleasant place to be: it is hardworking, unpretentious, welcoming.

In this guide’s 44 entries, we explore aspects of a city we love: dimly-lit bars, Puerto Rican sandwiches, hot dogs with duck fat fries, Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, Chess Records and the 1893 World’s Fair’s earthly remains. It is merely an introduction, but we hope you enjoy getting acquainted.

The map is designed and illustrated by Mike McQuade. It is A3 (297x420mm) folded to A6 (105x148mm), and litho printed in England on recycled paper.
